Performing Arts Evening

Hi Everyone
This blog has been quiet for a while and that is due to all the amazing work we've been doing at Meadowbank.  I wanted to let you all know that you have an awesome chance to see just some of what we do related to the performing arts at Meadowbank at our Performing Arts Evening, Thursday 9th Novemeber.
The reason we hold this evening is to let our performing arts clubs and groups perform to an audience and show off their hard work!  It's a fun evening of lots of entertainment so I encourage you all to come along!  The information is below!  Hope to see you there!

Year 3 - Exploring Instruments

Year 3s have been exploring instruments.  We've been listening to how they sound, looking at how they are played and enjoying listening to different orchestral pieces.  We have also being playing games challenging ourselves to identify the instruments by just their sound or a description about them.

For one of our activities different groups were given an instrument they had to describe.  We then read them out and tried to guess what they were.  Once we had done that we chose to put those description into PicCollage and create a little poster about the instruments.  Here are some we made...

We have really enjoyed some awesome YouTube videos of different orchestra pieces, have a watch and listen to these.

It's been great exploring orchestra music!

Tweeters are still Tweeting!

Hello Everyone.
It has been such a busy start to our term and it's hard to believe we are already half way!  At the moment lots of my time is being used for the BIG performing arts events on our calendar - Year 5 doing J-Rock and Year 6 are starting to create their Production which will be held early in Term 3.
The tweeters are also doing an amazing job coming every Wednesday lunch and we almost have 5 songs performance ready!

Here is a link for my tweeters - we are singing a song that was first introduced to Meadowbank 2 years ago (when I first started).  It's a beautiful song that really fits our school as we are an Enviro School!  Tweeters, listen and remember which part you are!!
